Terms & Conditions

Last updated: October 6, 2026

Welcome to Chess Analysis AI (chessanalysisai.com). By accessing or using our free chess analysis tool, analysis board, game review, opening trainer, or Elo calculator, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. What we provide

We provide a free, unlimited, browser-based chess training kit powered by Stockfish: game review with accuracy and move classifications, an interactive analysis board, an AI coach with plain-language explanations, an opening trainer, and utilities like the Elo calculator. No account is required. Features may change, improve, or be discontinued at any time.

2. Acceptable use

  • Use the tools for training, study, coaching, and post-game review.
  • Do not use engine output to cheat in rated, tournament, or prize games on any platform. That violates Chess.com, Lichess, and FIDE fair-play rules and can get your accounts banned.
  • Do not abuse, scrape, or overload the site, attempt to disrupt the service, or circumvent rate limits.
  • Do not misrepresent our analysis as official Chess.com, Lichess, or FIDE evaluation.

3. Intellectual property

The site's design, text, coach explanations, and original content belong to Chess Analysis AI. Engine analysis itself (Stockfish evaluations, best lines) is factual output you are free to use in your own study, lessons, and content with attribution. Third-party assets remain with their owners:

  • Stockfish — open-source engine (GPL). We run it client-side via WebAssembly.
  • Chess pieces — Cburnett set, used under CC BY-SA.
  • Chess.com / Lichess — trademarks of their respective owners. We are independent and not affiliated, endorsed, or sponsored by them.

4. Your content

PGNs, FENs, and usernames you enter are processed locally in your browser. Because we do not upload or store your games, you retain full ownership of anything you paste. If you send us a message via the contact page, you grant us permission to use it solely to respond and improve the service.

5. Disclaimer — provided "as is"

Analysis is provided as-is, for training purposes only, without warrantiesof any kind — including accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. Engine evaluations at finite depth can be wrong, especially in quiet or highly tactical positions. Demo evaluations shown before live analysis loads are illustrative. Always use your own judgment (and your coach's) for tournament preparation.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chess Analysis AI and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the site — including rating loss, account sanctions for engine misuse, or reliance on analysis output.

7. External links & APIs

We link to and interoperate with third-party public APIs (Chess.com, Lichess) and open-source projects. Their terms and privacy policies govern your use of those services. We are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices.

8. Changes & termination

We may update these terms as the service evolves; the "Last updated" date will change accordingly and continued use constitutes acceptance. We may suspend access for abuse or to protect the service. The short, friendly version of all this: train hard, play fair, don't cheat.
